Program Notes from the Artist:
This recital is built around the theme “Seelenfarben“ (Colors of the Soul). The program features works by two composers whose pieces embody their unique musical identities. Through this selection, the audience can enjoy the contrasting musical worlds of German and Polish dances, as well as the cultural and historical contexts that shaped them. Schubert's Sonata No. 14, composed during a pivotal moment in his career, reflects his profound artistic sensitivity. Similarly, Chopin’s Scherzo No. 1, written after his move to Vienna amidst personal failures, political upheaval, and heartbreak, channels his despair, anger, and patriotism into a deeply emotional work. Together, these pieces provide an intimate view into the inner worlds of two extraordinary composers. I believe that music serves as a mirror to the soul, and I strive to approach it with honesty and sincerity. These particular works resonate deeply with me for their truthfulness, and I hope to share that sense of connection and authenticity with the audience. Thank you.
